"Where workouts feel like hangouts"

We met when we were hired a few years ago at the YMCA on the very same day. We sat beside each other and signed papers, and never crossed paths again as we taught different classes and at different locations. About 10 months ago, at a few classes & trainings, we ran into each other. We talked some and our friendship became fun and easy, quickly. Our schedules seemed to line up more as we spent more time together, working on fun social media content for the Y, team teaching, hanging out with our families, and growing a little community of women at the gym.As we spent more time with different incredible and strong women, we wondered what it might be like to start our own space, our own community, of women who shared the same stories that many did in our friend group at the YMCA. After much wondering, questioning and researching, we’ve decided to find out.A dearest friend, supporter, and part of our workout family shared with us that having this kind of community in the gym has made her ‘feel welcome in spaces she never thought she belonged’. And that is exactly what we want to create! Not only do we want women to feel welcome in this ‘space’ known for men, but belonging in it, too. We want to have meaningful roots laid down, and watch them take hold. Women were made to move their bodies in ways other than on the cardio machines and in the studios. We weren’t created to stay small, or shrink down, but to build strength & carry heavy load (hello real world). We want to empower women to have the confidence to take up the space needed to do so.Community in the workout space is unique. To show up for yourself & for each other, to show that you prioritize your needs, doing really hard things together…its is a different kind of rewarding than a coffee date conversation (but don’t get me wrong, we love those too). Movement through strength building helps us metabolize a lot of life’s battles. Having others to do this beside you is huge. We hope to build something special, whether you’ve been in fitness for years or never picked up a dumbbell in your entire life, that leaves the entirety of you feeling stronger.

What are Friday Hangouts ?Well, they’re our favorite.Friday hangouts are a huge part of the reason we wanted to create LVKnox from the start. We see a major need for community within the gym scene for women- many of us wanting to start, not sure how to start, seeking strength & community. This is the heartbeat of LiVeRooted Knox and the drive behind what we do daily. In order to find consistency in your movement practice, you have to find a place that feels like home- a place you want to lay your roots and establish a community. We are here to grow with you.Every Friday from 9a-12p (subject to change in the near future when we add our Friday class called Friday 45!), you are welcome to pop by the studio, have a coffee, and pick up weights with us. We will be there lifting, chatting, and growing in body and connection. Come to ask questions, voice concerns, or just to have a good time with your friends.Buy a single punchcard, good for 8 Fridays AND bring a friend for free once per card.
We would love to grow our lifting crew 💗DM us to get a card or ask a question!
